Better Homes and Gardens DIY (i'm in there!)

long time no posts!  (sorry)  life has been crazy
around here lately... in a nut shell my husband started
a new job so now my work day is over at three when
henry (my little bit of sunshine) comes home from school.
needless to say it is hard to get things done.

ANYWAY...
you know this piece?
it is called community tree...

and this piece?
it is called the art of receiving...

well ages ago...
i was contacted by BHG (Better Homes and Gardens)
and they asked if they could use a couple of my prints
in their DIY magazine (a mighty fine magazine i might add).
so... OF COURSE i said YES!
who wouldn't?

anyway, i waited...

and waited...

and waited some more...

to the point of thinking that they didn't run the article.
but then  (just the other day)... i was in the store and there was
the new magazine (in a sealed plastic sleeve i might add).

i looked over at my husband and i said, i wonder if
this will be the one?

and guess what!  IT IS!!! (page 9)

*side note...  i was at a show this past weekend
so i didn't buy it. but when i got onto my computer that night,
a lovely lady had emailed me, to share the news!
she had seen me in there!

so the next day my sweet husband went
and got me one.  i had to see it (as you can imagine).

i was so tickled...
(one of my little career bucket list items was
to be in a big time magazine, and there i am).

woot woot!

OOx,
cori

  1. So very cool Cori! A big Congratulations!
I was so delighted, recently, to find your day planner at the Hallmark store in New Minas, Nova Scotia which I also saw as a huge coup. Very happy for you.

  2. how wonderful to scratch that off your bucket list! I'm still scrounging thru every stack of Kleenexes when I'm out shopping, so I can bring home another one of your little owl boxes(I've scored 4 so far)---being on a big-time consumer product package seems like a bucket list thing, too! Your list is going to have to get longer and longer, as you appear more and more places :-)

  3. And you totally deserve it! Your art is amazing and I love it!
I saw a little journal in Carlton Cards with your Art on the cover and through out the pages. It is so beautiful. It is on my list for Christmas and I don't care if I get anything else.:)

  16. I fell in love with your work at a fabric store and had to buy one of the panels. This week, I found a little blank journal to add to my collection - I'll carry it around in my purse. Is any of your artwork available on calendars?

  18. Hi Cori! Today I posted an instagram of a shelf in my art studio, which had a peep of a (totally darling) kleenex box (that I tossed in my cart a few weeks ago because I had had had to have it). Someone excitedly pointed out that it was yours, which sent me a-googling Kleenex+box+artist and presto! It led me to your beautiful art here. Now I love the Kleenex box even more! ♥

  21. Hi Cori
I just came over here to gush at you! I watched you on Smart Creative Women and just loved you in a 'I wish she was my friend' way. And of course your beautiful work.
Best of luck with managing your time now your husband has a job away from home. School days are just too short! Does that make me mean?!:))

  22. Wow! Very cool! I'm also an illustrator and while I was dropping off some of my work last night at a local gallery shop in Northville, Michigan that carries my work, I spied your Squirrel "nuts over you" card and I had to purchase it. Your work is gorgeous. I have to say though I didn't even read the card, I bought it purely for the cute illustration. It wasn't until I got home that I realized there was a message inside. Anyway, your prints look gorgeous on that wall in the magazine!
