just a little something...

well hello...

About a year ago I got an email from a gal
which basically said hello, I am an art teacher
and I love your work...  I love it so much that
I used your work as inspiration for a lesson in pattern
for my 4th and 5th graders.  I thought you would like to see
what they made.

!!!!!!  HOLY MOLY!!!!!!!

Did I ever want to see what my work
had inspired the youth of today to create.

That very next day she sent me
a series of fantastic pieces

(honestly...my heart could have exploded),

into a million tiny (little) happy pieces.

NOW, i would like to be able to give credit
where credit is due (because i asked for permission
to show these images on my blog)... but it was the end of the
year, she got sick and she never saw those students
again.   (insert heavy sigh here).  So basically
I am showing you these little lovelies
without artist approval because I can't help myself.
So- please forgive me and know I do it with the very
best of intentions.

another little something...

SO... as i had said earlier, i have been busy AND inspired which
doesn't always happen. THIS time, i have had a couple
of really fun and exiting projects to work on....

the latest of which was a new logo for
THE PINK PIG... hence (the piece above).

besides the wonderful pig that i was asked to create
i ALSO was asked to design a valentine for her online shop...

i created three (thinking she would chose her favorite).
AND...
to my delight and surprise she loved all three!
all of which you can purchase at her online store. here...
(if you would like to that is)

she also has a wonderful blog... which is well worth the read
other than the cutting and pasting... there has
been some some preparations being made for broches,
and "all year" ornaments. so keep your eyes open!
they should be posted soon.
toodles everyone... (the glue is calling me).

i have been BUSY...

the lookout 6 x 12

flap doodle 4 x 6

a little encouragement 8 x 8

the potential was endless 8 x 8

a game of flap doodle 12 x 12
(otherwise known as hide and go seek)

the new year has ARRIVED and i have been completely filled
with inspiration. i can actually feel it coursing through my veins
(i love it).

this isn't always true, so i do my VERY best to make
the most of it. it just so happens that i have just finished
17 new paintings (all created for a beautiful shop in greenwich
conneticut called LOVE). i don't believe any of the paintings
will be hanging in the shop, or be present online, until the begining
of February... but here is the link

where does one begin?

i suppose i will start with today.

today...

today i am posting my favorite (recent) painting , doris wright liked to borrow nancy's clothes.

i should begin by saying i never (that is right... never) have a plan when i start a piece. they just happen. * the funny thing about this painting is that it has both my grandmothers name (doris), and my mom's name (nancy) in it. i didn't know this until i was virtually done with the piece. and because of this... i couldn't sell it. so it now hangs on my mother's bedroom wall. it seemed only fitting.
