as for color/paint i use m. graham watercolors (mostly) and i think... but no promises, that the red you are talking about is quinacridone red. i love it. not terribly light fast in the long run, but delicious! the other color i love is quinacridone rose (cheek color) and they have a fab green gold as well.
i also just recently discovered the copic markers. LOVE them too.
