i have been working on this guy all week,
and there was just something "off" about him
(so today i gave him a new face).
can you see how i patched it in?
(his old face was so weird)
goes to show you, you can work it,
and then rework it. and perhaps even
save something in doing so!
because i swear i was about to toss this little dude,
and now i am glad i didn't.
i still may have to get in there and beef up the color
of his new face... but we will see.

i would like to clarify what "all week" means...
ReplyDeleteall week means that he has been on my work bench being handled for small moments all week long. i have NOT been holding this painting and working on it for 40 hours. but i have been looking at him and saying what is wrong with you? what can i do to make you more presentable? do you need more color? stronger lines? OR A NEW FACE!!! and slowly with handling i figure out what needs to happen to make things right.
Well, I really like him! There's a sly, cheeky look to his new mug....wonder what he's about to do :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing your journey to get him here. He's remarkable.
ReplyDeleteHe turned out great! I love that you stuck with him. I love it when things can be saved with just a little faith and experimentation.
